Filigree and Granulation in Ancient Greece.

Filigree is an ancient ornamental metalworking technique dating back to 3000 B.C. that employs a frame filled with fine threads of twisted and curled wire, small grains, or balls of metal that attach at points.

Granulation is also an ancient technique where the surface of a piece of jewelry is decorated with small spheres of precious metal or granules. The ancient Greeks perfected the technique and are considered unrivaled masters to this day.
