Liggio Family Crest Ring

Liggio is an esteemed and ancient lineage, reputedly introduced to Sicily by Antonino, father of Pietro, a resident of Lentini and the initial baron of Carmito, as confirmed by King Ludovico on December 13, 1353. Enrico, Niccolò, Tommaso, and Antonio, Pietro's sons, were granted confirmation of the portulanotto office in Lentini on January 31, 1399. According to Inveges, Giuliano served as Palermo's governor in 1496, while Giovan Luigi assumed the role of senator in Palermo during 1540-41 and 1561-62. Simon occupied the same position in 1543-44 and 1158-59, followed by Fabrizio in 1580-81 and 1587-88. Lastly, Girolamo, recognized by Di Giovanni as a scholarly figure, distinguished himself as a principal chaplain.
